Portable Ice Fishing Trips on Lake Sakakawea

Our typical North Dakota ice fishing season starts around Christmas time and runs into the beginning of April, weather depending. We offer a variety of ways to ice fish in the Lake Sakakawea area including guided trips, ice house rentals, and guided Snobear trips.

Our portable ice trips are “run and gun” style of ice fishing as we travel to uncharted waters for early and late season trips. These ice fishing trips are day trips, and come with everything you need to enjoy a day on hardwater. These include 2-man flip-over ice shacks that are loaded with all the latest and greatest rods, and tackle and gear!

A lot of our success as Lake Sakakawea ice fishing guides is to be mobile. If we need to move if a spot dies, we can do so in a hurry so we’re moving and fishing to the next spot quickly. That way we’re spending less time messing around and more time fishing!

We supply all ice fishing gear, tackle & bait needed for all of our ice fishing trips! All of our clients will be outfitted with Vexilar FL-28s, as well. This allows you to clearly see incoming fish and of course…catch ‘em!

Lake Sakakawea Ice House Rentals

We have multiple 8x16 foot Ice Houses for rent on Lake Sakakawea. These are Ice Castle brand ice houses, with each ice house equipped with 4 beds, microwave, oven/stove,TV, rattle reels, and 7+ ice holes in each house. 

Each ice house rental comes with a generator as well as bait supplied, and this is basically ice camping on the lake! A very popular way to fish Lake Sakakawea or anywhere for that matter.

SnoBear Trips on Lake Sakakawea

We also offer SnoBear ice fishing trips on Lake Sakakawea! Our Snobear can fit up to 4 clients and the guide. The Snobear is equipped with 5 holes in the floor to fish out of. The machine lowers to the ground and we will hit 10-20 fishing spots throughout the day. That’s the best part about ice fishing in a SnoBear as you’re always staying aggressive and moving to find active biting fish. 

This is arguably the most successful way to ice fish being able to break down water fast and on the move. And best of all, the weather doesn’t really affect our fishing. The SnoBear has a livescope on 2 TVs for each client to be able to see the fish moving in and out. You can also clearly see their ice jigs working! 

The SnoBear has multiple heaters in it. No matter the weather, it's always sunny and 75 degrees there!
